                     Our Generation: The Mods!

The Punk era was not all about Punk Rockers! and as we all know a big part of Punk Rock, amongst many other variations and spin offs of the genre and ideoligy, was the Mod influence!

The Sex Pistols played Small Faces covers (albeit in their anti-Sixties HATE mode) as well as The Who's Substitute, The early Clash were undoubtedly influenced by the Mod sounds and - to a degree - the look in some of their early photo sessions... but the most outstandingly visual and musical Mod attack of the Punk days came from Wokings finest 'The Jam'. Their story has been told many times so our site is not one dedicated to re-telling it. There are many interesting Jam anecdotes and gig experiences, meetings with Paul Weller, gig tickets, photos etc within the books 'Our Generation' and 'This is Our Generation Calling'..but here the enthasis is on the Punk era Mod Revival showing photos (some that are featured within 'Our Generation' but many not) and any interesting memorabilia items...reviews etc...and as always any suggestions most welcome. To start off here are some exclusive Mod related photos.

'The first night was the best and quite well attended. It was an almost exclusively Mod turn out with some fantastic r&b being played as well as a great selection of blue eyed Soul tracks and the very best of the coolest Mod sounds!
